Issued between 1884 and 1894, this print is part of the series of thirty-six Civil War battle scenes published by Kurz & Allison. Their chromolithographs were prized for their vivid if somewhat naive artistry—stylized panoramas of Union and Confederate forces rendered in fishbowl” compositions, with figures treated in a manner reminiscent of the earlier popular lithographs of Currier & Ives.
