A finely rendered chromolithograph portrait of an Irish Setter named “Grouse II,” shown in a typical hunting or field stance. The plate carries the owner inscription “The Property of the Revd. R. O'Callaghan, R.N.,” identifying the dog's owner and situating the image in the late-Victorian sporting tradition of recording named field dogs.
